Sheena Schreck

The vision beyond SUP IOWA was created by founder Sheena Schreck while enjoying a sunset paddle in Laguna Beach where she resides today. As a born and raised Iowan Sheena has always maintained a strong connection with her midwest roots and her large family that still lives there.  The goal behind SUP IOWA is to introduce a fun experience to the young and old outdoorsy and adventurous residents of Iowa through the growing water sport activity originating from the islands of Hawaii.

Sheena was first introduced to stand up paddleboarding (SUP) during a vacation with her sisters in Lake Tahoe, California in 2009. At that time she was living in Iowa but found herself daydreaming of the California sun and ocean blue waters. It wasn’t long before she decided to follow her dream and move to the west coast. Soon after relocating Sheena bought her first board and became immersed in stand up paddle boarding. After many midwest visitors came to try the sport and loved it, Sheena began to brainstorm the possibilities of bringing the the coastal experience back to the lakes of Iowa. Fast forward to a sunset paddle revelation in 2012 and SUP IOWA was officially formed.

SUP IOWA’s main focus is to offer an unique, active and fun-filled lifestyle to the Iowa lakes communities by creating a variety of quality, customized lessons, camps and team building adventures that encourage fun and healthy living. SUP IOWA’s mission is to bring a new way the residents of Iowa can enjoy the many blue lake waters that exist around the state.

SUP Iowa’s premier location will launch this June on the Iowa Great Lakes in northwest Iowa. This lake area is a group of natural glacial lakes and are the largest in the state of Iowa. This area is often referred to simply as Okoboji and is one of Iowa’s most popular vacation destinations. Okoboji has a special place is Sheena’s heart as she spent many summers growing up on the lake vacationing with her family.

Always having a strong desire to give back to the community in which she was raised, Sheena is so excited to introduce stand up paddling this summer to the residents and visitors of the Iowa Great Lakes.  SUP Iowa’s ultimate vision is offer stand up paddling across the state for all ages and all skill levels to try as a new, fun and active way to take advantage of the beautiful Iowa outdoors.

We formed a Delaware corporation for Sheena.
