Komal Ahmad
Komal Ahmad recently graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with degrees in International Health and Development and Global Poverty and Practice. She is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of BareAbundance, and Co-Founder of the Food Recovery Network. These organizations are innovative in their approaches to improving access to healthy food and nutrition, while simultaneously curtailing hunger and food waste in America. These food recovery initiatives are currently in full-force on 15 colleges and universities and have recovered over 110,000 pounds of food in less than a year’s time. Komal’s relentless pursuit of accomplishing what others believe is ‘impossible’ has lead to her lifelong commitment to public service. She has returned to UC Berkeley as a Visiting Scholar and Judith Lee Stronachrecipient in order to launch Feeding Forward — a tech based social venture — and is planning to expand it nationally in 2013. Komal is dedicated in her work to successfully reach the masses with the message that hunger is the world’s largest solvable problem and better still, that it is possible for them to help.
We formed a California corporation for Komal.
