eMinutes Plants 500 Trees to Celebrate New HQ

When we pledged to plant 10,000 trees by 2013 two years ago – one for each client who elected for electronic communications – we never expected to hit 7,000 so soon. Today we are celebrating our new office, by planting 500 trees, bringing our grand total to 7,230 trees. Over the weekend, eMinutes moved to 12121 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 1201, Los Angeles, CA 90025, which happens to be a five minute walk from my home. The emissions associated with my commute have been reduced to zero.

The impact of being entire paperless has been extraordinary. We’ve not only saved over $100,000 to date in printing, paper, and postage, we have also marveled at the efficiency that comes from not having to deal with paper. Our new office does not even have a file room.

I’m more a capitalist than an environmentalist; and I promise that if the save-the-environment message was tailored to how small business can increase profits while doing good for the world, we’d see a lot more businesses get on the environment band wagon. I’m passionate about how small businesses can help the environment and increase profits.
