Why helping out first-time entrepreneurs is the best decision I ever made
Over the summer, I had the idea to form 500 free corporations for first-time entrepreneurs. I thought it was a great way to build my brand and to meet some really interesting people, but I had no idea how it would impact me on a personal and emotional level.
I received this note from Shana Dysert today that sums up exactly why forming free corporations for first-time entrepreneurs has been so personally rewarding:
Dear Jeff,
I want to thank you so much for considering me as one of your first time entrepreneurs. You have no idea how big an impact this will have in my life. You are helping me reach my dreams. It almost doesn’t seem real. What you are doing is something truly extraordinary. In a time when people are being tighter than ever with their money – you have given a chance for hundreds to embark on a dream, their dream. I remember learning about the American dream in history class… and not even a month ago I remember thinking, that something was lost along the way…
My grandfather started out selling blocks of ice, and later on became an engineer (without any formal training) and went on to own several companies. When I was little, I used to tell him- “Grandpa – you had it easy! You didn’t even have to go to school”. Now I am older, and I understand the mountain he had to climb, and the risks he had to take. I also know that for me, the economic climate is much different than it was 50 years ago. With your help, as well as Alex and Erika, I’ve got a strong foundation to begin upon. You have helped me remember what the American Dream stands for – and I hope, with my business I can pass that along to the people I work with.
Thank you again!
