How To Register an Accountancy Corporation with the California Board of Accountancy
A California accountancy corporation must register with the California Board of Accountancy. The rules and procedures are set fort the Accountancy Corporations page of the Board of Accountancy’s website. This article explains the steps that are required for registration:
STEP ONE: Complete an Accountancy Corporation Application for Licensure (corpapp) and submit it with a $270 check made payable to the “California Board of Accountancy”. STEP TWO: Organize the attachments that must accompany all applications:
- Attach a certified copy of the Articles of Incorporation. View sample Accountancy Articles Of Incorporation;
- Attach the section of the corporation’s Bylaws that relate to transfer and ownership of shares. Section 75.9 of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations and Sections 13406 and 13407 of the Corporations Code set forth the requirements of the Bylaws. View a sample Bylaws provision;
- Attach a specimen share certificate with the appropriate share restriction legend.
